A Book of Prince Photos to be Released

A new book of Prince photos is coming out in October.

The photographer is Afshin Shahidi.

He and the Purple One were friends for two decades and Shahidi was his photographer half that time.

We also just got word Beyonce wrote the foreword for the book, Prince:  A Private View.

Entertainment Weekly got a preview of the cover and Queen Bey's sentiments: "Truth be told, the word 'icon' only scratches the surface of what Prince was and what he remains to me."

Prince:  A Private View comes out October 17.

Afshin Shahidi is the father of Yara Shahidi on Black-ish.
